I graduated from Trinity College Dublin and underwent basic medical followed by specialist training in Endocrinology and Diabetes in Dublin. I subsequently had research and clinical fellowship posts at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital/Queen Mary University of London before returning to Dublin. My clinical and research interests include pituitary and neuroendocrinology , benign and malignant thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, reproductive endocrinology and metabolic bone disease. I have more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals mainly as a first or senior author including in some of the leading scientific journals in the field such as JAMA, the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, the American Journal of Medicine and the American Journal of Physiology. I am a recipient of several national and international scientific awards.

In 2001, James Paul O'Neill became a graduate of The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) winning both the RCSI Council Medal and the Dr Jim Mahon Medal for Medicine. In 2004, he became a Fellow of RCSI. He completed his Doctorate of Medicine and won the Sir Angell James Prize for ENT research in London on Thyroid Cancer. In 2006 he studied in the Smurfit Business School at University College Dublin completing an Executive Masters of Business Administration. In 2010 he was awarded his Intercollegiate in Otolaryngology and also completed a Masters in Medical Education in Queens University Belfast. In July 2010 he began a surgical oncology fellowship in Head and Neck Surgical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He has published research papers, book chapters and two textbooks with Elsevier publishers on Head & Neck disease and Otolaryngology. In 2014 he was appointed Professor of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at RCSI. He operates on all aspects of Otolaryngology disease and specialises in cancers of the Head, Neck and Skullbase, Thyroid cancer, Sinus and Salivary disease.

Prof Peter Conlon is a graduate of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. He undertook general medical and Nephrology training in Dublin before undertaking Nephrology fellowship at Duke University where he was subsequently on faculty as assistant Professor for 4 years before returning to Ireland in 1998. Since returning to Dublin Prof Conlon has a very busy practice in all aspects of Nephrology. Prof Conlon has played many roles in leadership in Beaumont Hospital as past chairman of medical board , clinical director of Transplantation Urology and Nephrology and current lead clinic Director of Beaumont Hospital and clinical director of Medicine. Prof Conlon has an active research interest in many aspects of nephrology including renal genetics and transplantation medicine. He has authored more than 200 research publications and book chapters.
